PALÁCIO DA BOLSA - VISIT

Palácio da Bolsa is one of the most important neo-classical monuments in Oporto. Built in the 19th century as the headquarters of the Porto Commercial Association, it is currently one of the most fascinating palaces in Portugal. The Church of San Francisco (14th century) is a must see for the stunning Baroque decoration in Talha Dourada (golden wood carvings).

SÉ/PAÇO EPISCOPAL - VISIT

The Cathedral of Porto and the adjoining Paço were built in the 12th century in the Romanesque style and remodeled in the 18th century in the Baroque style. They are one of the oldest and most emblematic Portuguese monuments. The Terreiro da Sé allows a beautiful panoramic view of Porto

HISTORICAL CENTER - PASSAGE

The interior area of the old Fernandina Wall is now Porto’s historic center. Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 1996 (UNESCO), the Historic Center is a unique example of a city with medieval roots, full of character and identity. CHURCH / CLERGY TOWER - PASSAGE

This architectural ensemble designed by Nicolau Nasoni is one of Porto’s ex-libris. Built in the 18th century, the Church and Clérigos Tower is a striking mix of Baroque and Rococo style, resulting in a surprising scenic effect. National Heritage since 1910.

LELLO BOOK STORE - VISIT

The Lello Bookstore was founded in 1906 by the Lello Brothers. Its neo-Gothic façade construction is famous, with panels representative of Art and Science. All its decoration is a mix between the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles, having been considered the Most Beautiful Bookstore in the World. The philosophy of the Lello Brothers was to create a “living door of access to history”. It is surely one of the best ambassadors of Portuguese literature and cultural dynamics.
