Founded in 1160 by Gualdim Pais, Tomar is the pearl city of the Templars. Its magnificent Gothic and Baroque churches, the beautiful streets of the Historic Center and the cozy scenic environment created by the Nabão River and its numerous waterfalls make Tomar a visit not to be missed.

The Castelo de Bode Dam creates a magnificent lake in the course of the Zêzere river, between the shale and magical mountains of the county of Tomar. It is one of the largest dams in Portugal. Its most striking feature is its beautiful lagoons, which originated some of the most extraordinary river beaches in the country.

Almourol Castle is an icon of medieval military architecture and the Templars in Portugal. Built in the 12th century on a granite outcrop, 18 meters above water level, it has a magical and mysterious presence.
